Overview
Media Sales Manager
The Baltimore Sun Media Group, Baltimore’s leading media company, is seeking an experienced media sales manager to lead our major account team. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated organized leader who is self-reliant and possesses the demonstrated ability to positively and effectively lead senior level media sales professionals.
The Sales Manager will recommend integrated strategies for clients focusing heavily on digital products. They will establish performance standards for their sales and will achieve print, interactive/mobile and portfolio revenue goals and performance. They will consistently attain concrete, timely and measurable results that support overall company objectives and are consistent with tronc values, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
• Maintain and grow revenue
• Participate in the planning process to develop and implement acceptable strategies, operational plans, policies, projections and budgets for print, interactive, mobile and events.
• Oversee weekly, monthly & annual forecasting for sales team.
• Work with team to develop creative, comprehensive advertising packages using a multi-media approach.
• Identify and monitor revenue variances for print and digital products. Review performance and objectives. Ensure corrective action to meet financial goals.
• Work effectively with team members and colleagues within the group and across traditional work units particularly online, OOH and commercial print. Proactively share print, digital, mobile and event knowledge and resources.
• Understand and satisfy the changing needs of both external and internal customers with customized campaigns.
• Foster a climate that motivates direct reports and encourages professional growth, innovation and creative thinking.
• Demonstrate a broad understanding of all aspects of business. Effectively develop short and long-term strategies and plans.
• Demonstrate ethical business practices.
• Responsible for evaluating team members and facilitating new and ongoing sales training, performance appraisals and reviews.
Qualifications
• College degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent related experience in the publishing industry, other media or advertising agencies
• Requires 1-3 years sales management experience
• Requires 3-5 years advertising sales experience
• Requires strong communication skills to be able to clearly and effectively share relevant information through listening, one-on-one, group and written communication skills
• Requires strong organizational and time management skills
