Lead MarComm Strategy and Operations Manager
Who We Are:
The Marketing Communications (MarComm) Strategy and Operations team is a critical part of Twitter’s CMO organization, working as a shared strategic hub for key programs, planning, and priority initiatives. As the only dedicated cross-team resource, we work across B2B Marketing, Consumer Marketing, Research, Creative, Growth, Employee Comms, and PR teams to surface opportunities, translate those opportunities into action, and work hand-in-hand to achieve stakeholder goals.
Who You Are:
The ideal candidate is able to think “big picture” to proactively identify strategic direction but also be willing to roll up their sleeves to create analytical frameworks, plans and solutions that directly support Marketing / Comms priorities. You have the rare balance of being attentive to detail - AND - a thoughtful leader with a deep understanding of marketing, comms, and change-driven organizational best-practices.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide strategic support and consulting for key marketing / comms organizational priorities - though program leadership, stakeholder partnership and pro-active recommendations.
• Frame and break down complex marketing / comms problems into key components, design program analysis to drive to insight, answers to critical questions, and recommend practical solutions to drive results (knowing that you may will not be the program “owner”)
• Manage a team of operations professionals and define a centralized model for cross-team support and personal development.
• Gather & analyze data, information, opinion, and research (e.g., market data, competitive analysis, advertiser/consumer trends, etc.) through quantitative and qualitative mechanisms to make decisions on critical strategic issues
• Drive implementation of significant short- and long-term efforts contributing to the overall growth and profitability of Twitter - through Marketing and Comms priorities.
• Present strategic insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in the Marketing, Sales, Finance, Comms, and Product organizations critical to maintaining or developing long-term relationships
• Own the planning process (annual) with finance - and on quarterly cycles with business leads, through team off-sites, OKR / guidance, and brainstorms.
• Create relationships with stakeholders through establishing trust, value, and dependability - with strong verbal, visual, and communication forms.
Candidate Qualifications:
• A highly proactive and independent spirit, ability to drive your initiatives with minimal guidance and input
• 5-7+ years of relevant experience in Marketing, Media / Comms Technology or Strategy Consulting industries
• Strong leadership and people management experience
• Experience with multi-stage Marketing lifecycle, campaigns and awareness of automation tools (Eloqua, Marketo, SFDC Marketing Cloud, etc.) Understanding / Researching large data sets and manipulation a plus.
• Familiarity with success metrics throughout the Marketing funnel and knowledge of key frameworks / campaign types at each stage (Qualitative / Quantitative recommendations)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop visual and impactful executive level presentations (Expertise in Powerpoint/Keynote, Online Research and Visualizations)
• BA/BS degree or equivalent with specialization in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or Media / Technology
• Bonus: MBA and/or Strategy Consulting experience
