Tourism Partnerships Manager
This position will be based in San Francisco and you will report to Airbnb’s Director of Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships. Each day, you lead and inspire this complex, business-critical function by setting strategy and objectives for Airbnb’s ongoing work with tourism authorities and destination marketing organizations globally, developing key relationships and initiatives that support global, regional, and market based strategic goals. You will ensure alignment on strategy across functions within the public policy department, while also working closely with other departments and priority company initiatives. You also work with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Set strategy and objectives for Airbnb’s work with tourism authorities, destination marketing organizations and travel industry companies and associations globally.
• Build and manage our partnerships with major international tourism industry organizations.
• Manage external Airbnb stakeholder engagement in the tourism space.
• Manage Airbnb engagement at important industry convenings around the world.
• Represent Airbnb at panels, meetings, speaking engagements and other events with national and international audiences.
• Create a broader tourism and destination marketing engagement strategy that focuses on building a set of education and skill development materials for key stakeholders and tourism organizations that demonstrate Airbnb’s unique role in the tourism space.
• Work closely with regional partnership managers positioned around the world to develop local goals and plans that support local campaign priorities.
• Work closely with the Campaigns, Communications, Marketing and Policy leadership to ensure efforts fully support and are fully integrated public policy goals and needs.
Requirements:
• 10+ Years of experiences working in the tourism industry or relevant government position, ideally at an international organization. Focus on economic development.
• Strong track record of success working with or for local tourism organizations.
• Superb project manager, with experience managing interdisciplinary teams and multiple work streams
• Experience working internationally
• Very experienced in stakeholder management
• Excellent organizational/ project management skills with strong follow-up
• Skilled at driving projects and producing results in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels
• Strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills that inspire with special credit for strong public speaking abilities
• Maintaining enthusiasm and calm demeanor in even the most stressful situations
• Passion for Airbnb and the mission of the company
