JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Data Analyst for Programming Financial Operations and Analytics is responsible for developing and maintaining robust information systems to support compliance, financial, and viewership analytics functions of the department. As part of this role, this individual will support the creation and enhancement of a programming data mart environment which will serve as a tool for financial and compliance data mining. He/she will also support the viewership data analytics initiatives by developing and running viewership reports, conducting data validation/troubleshooting, creating and maintaining data mapping files and having expert knowledge of various data sets/systems relevant to the entire team.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Serve as a liaison between programming financial operations, Compliance, and Analytics to maintain consistent data requirements, merge relevant data sets, develop comparable metrics, and ensure easy access
Create and maintain programming data mart to facilitate data extracts for both ad hoc and customized recurring analyses (viewership, packaging, subscriber, and expense)
Establish expertise on Charter’s Audience Measurement system and relevant BI tables
Viewership report generation, data management, validation and organization
Data reporting utilizing third party measurement tools, including Nielsen, comScore, etc.
Generation and maintenance of data mapping files for Audience Measurement
Market research utilizing syndicated tools, such as SNL Kagan, eMarketer, LRG Research, etc.
Develop and maintain reporting databases to establish trend reports
Conduct recurring processes and data pulls to provide timely insights on packaging, penetration
Assist with building automated test tools for alerting on potential compliance risks and opportunities
◦ Channel Lineup Database (CLU) monitoring
◦ Penetration, headroom and packaging reporting
◦ Coordinate data pulls for timely programming remittance quality controls
Support ad hoc research projects
Perform other duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Expert knowledge of SQL and Excel (familiarity with key media measurement systems such as Nielsen, comScore, etc. and media industry accounting data such as CSG, ICOMS, and/or Nestor are also a plus)
Passion for data management
Ability to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, detailed data tracing
Ability to develop and manage data warehousing
Comfortable with managements of databases, SQLs queries, data conversions, programs and operational disciplines
Ability to perform complex data matching processes and data diagnosis across multiple systems
Experience in the cable, satellite, telecommunications industry preferred
Must be a strategic, independent thinker focused on detail
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology/engineering or equivalent experience.
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
The qualified candidate must have minimum 5+ years of Data/Analytics experience (media industry experience is a plus)
