Description
Forbes Media is currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities:
External Communications
• Work closely with CEO and executive team to develop and execute an integrated global corporate communications strategy that will successfully reinforce the company’s business objectives.
• Lead the Corporate Communications team to develop both corporate and consumer-facing PR programs; collaborate closely with marketing, sales and editorial teams; manage relationships with global PR agencies, freelancers and other partners who contribute to the PR function. Through skills and needs assessments, develop and manage a productive structure that encourages creativity and collaboration.
• Collaborate with the company's social team to create global integrated communications campaigns.
• Raise the visibility of the Forbes brand in the U.S. and worldwide, and leverage the executive team to tell the Forbes story across all forms of media.
• Pitch company editorial staff as subject-matter experts for different lists, franchises and breaking news.
• Manage media relations, pitching and incoming press inquiries.
• Develop positive relationships with new and traditional media, influencers and analysts and secure press coverage that will communicate key Forbes messages.
• Organize, oversee and develop talking points for press appearances by executive team.
• Pitch speaking engagements for executive team.
• Act as official company spokesperson.
• Manage crisis communications and reputational issues as needed.
• Oversee awards submissions.
• Oversee development of press coverage reports and distribution of Forbes news clips to employees.
• Provide guidance on metrics to measure success.
Internal Communications
• Work closely with CEO, HR and executive team on developing internal memos for employees, including quarterly business updates.
• Oversee all-employee TownHall meetings and A Day in the Life presentations
• Oversee the development and distribution of internal digital newsletter Life at Forbes
Requirements:
• 15+ years of experience in corporate communications for a media/news company.
• Strategist with a keen news instinct.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful public relations campaigns.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; experience in engaging with C-level suite and different stakeholders; effective communication skills to influence outcomes.
• Extensive relationships with diverse press contacts.
• Experienced in handling transformational shifts within an organization and ability to manage the differences in opinions and culture.
• Experienced and savvy in social media practices and tools; Knowledgeable in emerging social media.
• Strong leadership and interview-preparation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to make sound decisions quickly and efficiently.
• Experienced in crisis communications.
• Management track record.
• Bachelor's degree in PR, marketing, communications or related field a plus, but not required.
