Sales Director, National Accounts - Penguin Young Readers
Penguin Random House Sales is currently seeking a Sales Director, National Accounts to lead the strategic direction for and oversee the National Accounts team responsible for selling all Penguin Young Readers titles to Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other eBook accounts.
In addition to overseeing the day-to-day responsibilities of four National Account Managers, the Director will work with the National Account Managers to create dynamic business plans and grow the national accounts business as well as work creatively with the team to plan and develop promotions for new and backlist titles.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Establishing and advising on placement priorities for Penguin Young Readers titles.
2. Developing and maintaining customer relationships with management level and above contacts at national accounts.
3. Developing and executing long term programs to ensure net sales growth and efficiencies.
4. Attending regular business reviews.
5. Working closely and communicating with publishing and other internal departments regarding lists, schedules, and sales targets.

• Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the publishing industry; including a minimum of 5 years of management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communicating with employees across all levels within an organization
• Ability to set priorities and meet individual and team deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• Proven leadership skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve
• Proactive and able to adapt to changing priorities and environments
• Experience working with children’s books is a plus
• Experience working with Amazon is a plus
