Founded as a classical label in 1964, Nonesuch Records has grown over the last five decades to pursue a broad mission, including classical music, contemporary music, jazz, traditional American and world music, popular and alternative music, and music theater. Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Oversee creation, approvals, and implementation of marketing plans and budgets.
• Meet with artist managers.
• Help bring in marketing partners and 3rd party vendors.
• Help form media plans.
• Oversee budgets and radio plans.
• Work with Warner Music Group advertising to book and complete ads.
• Manage Marketing Coordinator.
• Create/develop the overall marketing plan for a project and make sure the rest of the company executes it.
• Set key dates and goals (ie sales/promotional targets) for the project at inception, and continuously update and manage these goals and expectations.
• Act as the primary liaison between the artist/management and the label in all marketing related issues.
• Develop focused marketing plans in conjunction w/ individual department heads and their staff to maximize that department's opportunities, while integrating those ideas/needs into the overall plan. Includes radio, sales, video, street teams/tour marketing, new media, advertising, etc.
• Act as the primary voice, advocate, and cheerleader for an artists/project within the company.
• Constantly provide and update information about what different parts of the company are doing to keep everyone informed of what is working and what is not.
• Coordinate artist scheduling needs (in conjunction with tour marketing)
• Work on project budgeting with both finance and department heads, at the project inception as well as monitoring throughout.
• Set overall direction and tone for marketing our releases and the WBR brand to consumers and trade.
• Develop strategic partnerships for our artists and projects.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• At least 3 years of marketing experience
Education Required/Preferred:
• 4 year undergraduate degree
