Maximize WMG digital revenue and market share while ensuring operational account efficiencies and executing our digital strategy
Why this could be your next big break:
VP, Digital Accounts, Global is responsible and accountable for all aspects of managing the day-to-day business for Google/YouTube for owned and distributed labels. The primary goal is to maximize sales/streams through the music and other content types that are available through this digital partner and to ensure that the right music and other content types are being promoted at the right time. Specifically, they are to leverage WEA/WMG assets in order to drive consumption of WMG/ADA content on the subscription streaming, AVOD and SVOD platforms. Responsible for achieving all company objectives in the areas of download sales goals, marketing, streaming market share growth, playlist strategy, operational efficiency, and profitability.
Here you’ll get to:
Manage all aspects of WMG’s business with Google/YouTube across streaming, download, AVOD/SVOD offerings and new products to insure releases, revenue, market share, and global coordination are optimized.
• Drive revenue results and meet revenue goals managing Digital Account Management team for WEA/ADA including all set up and execution.
• Act as worldwide lead for Google/YouTube account management, leading team of optimization & operations experts.
• Play an integral role in developing content release strategy with a focus on execution for YouTube platform and Google services
• Facilitate dialogue worldwide on best practices that enhance communications, platform engagement and consumption at YouTube.
• Lead on global content initiatives and strategy rollouts with ex-US account managers to execute new release and catalog campaigns.
• Meet regularly with account and local teams to review business results.
• Initiate research to quantify revenue opportunities and educate WEA/ADA on Google/YouTube opportunities, strengths, and possible experiments including competitive strategies. Develop tactics from research for how to grow our business.
• Ensure all labels and WEA are fully briefed on marketing initiatives and sales opportunities at the accounts. Maintain deck of opportunities and update regularly.
• Work with Google/YouTube, business development, and the labels to push for platform improvements and roadmap focus that will improve revenue and break artists. Interface with WMG business development to exchange information and coordinate strategy execution at accounts.
• As new initiatives emerge, insure account management, labels, and operations are developing the right process to meet the needs of our business.
• Coordinate across Google/YouTube departments (i.e. Music, Editorial, Merchandising, Programming, Entertainment, Originals, Product, Ad-Sales, Engineering, Marketing, ContentID, etc.) execution on product rollouts and opportunities to develop new business categories and expand the kinds of offerings WMG has within the YouTube platform with the goal of finding new revenue streams and breaking new artists.
• Facilitate relationships throughout the Google/YouTube organization. Use those relationships to cut through bureaucracy and gain a broader understanding for WMG of the partner culture.
• Facilitate and participate in all appropriate label and Google/YouTube meetings. Recap meeting where appropriate. Assign drivers to open issues and facilitate follow through.
• Work with partner and labels to get appropriate personnel to events at Google/YouTube or offsite with the goal of partner taking ownership of projects and granting discretionary positioning.
• Identify competitive initiatives across all partners and initiate evaluation of success.
Rockstar candidates will be able to:
• Collaborate with labels in development, negotiation, and execution sales and marketing programs
• Create, present, and execute creative marketing plans in order to achieve specific goals with regard to new releases and catalog,
• Manage the complete and timely flow of communication between WEA, our label partners, the account and international
• Maintain superior understanding of accounts’ major marketing initiatives, systems, and logistical processes
• Conduct formal weekly presentations for new products to accounts’ editorial staff and marketing departments Responsible for developing strong relationships at every level of the account
• This includes senior management, the editorial, marketing, operations, logistics, credit, and finance teams
• Offer intelligence on account SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats)
• Consistently inform WEA management of all competitive policies and practices
• Conduct ongoing analysis of product sales, and make recommendations to account to mutually grow our businesses. Leverage owned and distributed label content together to gain best access and placements/sales
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
• A passion and interest in developing artists and music
• An understanding of digital music services
• A strong working knowledge of ad-supported platforms and the monetization of these platforms
• Ability to lead, educate, and encourage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must,
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to take direction and execute specific outlined initiatives
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
• 7+ years sales experience as a primary account manager or similar position
• Digital sales experience preferred
