Video Content Coordinator
The USA TODAY NETWORK is looking for a Video Content Coordinator to help find, create, promote and program video content for USA TODAY and the USA TODAY NETWORK. The VCC will primarily be responsible for proactively working with section editors, home front producers, mobile producers, writers, reporters and other producers to program and promote USA TODAY NETWORK original and third party video content in articles, section fronts, social media and other platforms as needed.
The VCC must be familiar with monitoring and using digital analytics such as Omniture, Chartbeat and Simple Reach to make programming decisions. They must be able to write articles to go with videos. HE/SHE may also be called about to produce and edit video on demand content, so should be comfortable with basic producing and editing video for desktop, mobile and social platforms.
The VCC must stay on top of breaking news, trending news and be able to work well in a constantly changing environment. The VCC should be a motivated, self-starter who can multi-task and communicate effectively with Senior-level management, editors, reporters and other video team members. The VCC will be responsible for reviewing third party content for editorial quality and to be sure it meets the standards of the USA TODAY NETWORK. They will also be responsible for adding tags as well as improving headlines and descriptions to optimize performance and SEO on desktop, mobile and social platforms. The VCC should be comfortable making editorial decisions and with rights management. They will be required to ensure that content is up to date and accurate and editorially sound. The VCC should be able to prioritize requests and proactively determine current programming and content production priorities.
Must have 2-4 years professional experience. Degree in Journalism preferred.
