Senior Financial Analyst - Motion Picture Reporting
Overview and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for assisting in performing monthly and quarterly close activities and coordinating, analyzing, and reporting quarterly financial results for the Motion Picture Group.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Perform monthly and quarterly journal entries in support of close, including: revenue and distribution cost accruals; barter and gross-to-net transactions; sub distributor receivables and cash application; royalties and participations; and title allocations
• Prepare accounting and record-keeping functions, quarterly results package, journal entries, P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis
• Complete monthly reconciliations, including Goods Receipts/Invoice Receipt maintenance, prepayments & gross-to-net deals
• Prepare management reporting and analysis focused on global film performance
• Review contracts and propose accounting treatment
• Reconcile sub-system feeds to G/L
• Monitor and clear suspense accounts
• Maintain various accrual and reserve schedules, including coordinating with other divisions to get necessary information
• Support in-territory Business Decision Support personnel with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
• Special projects as requested by management
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Business or related field
• Minimum 3-4 years related experience
Advanced qualifications:
• 2+years experience with a big four CPA firm
• CPA or CPA in progress
• Experience with SAP (R3), Business Warehouse (BW), Hyperion & Essbase
Additional Qualifications
Desired skills:
• Strong excel skills including lookups, pivot tables
• Entertainment industry experience preferred
• Ability to research and apply advanced financial and accounting concepts
• Ability to prioritize a high volume workload and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
• Self-starter with ability to proactively identify issues and propose resolutions
• Strong attention to detail and results driven work ethic
• Strong oral and written communication skills
