OVERVIEW
Work independently and proactively to ensure the AMC Networks Post Facility is fully functional within quality and functional specifications. Responsible for managing system/network services for AMC Networks Asset Management system at 11 Penn Plaza including monitoring network activity /connectivity to multiple edit systems /graphics environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain our Avid Interplay infrastructure. Ensuring users can access and work on the systems without interruption.
• Provide a single point of user contact for issues directly related to the enterprise wide Interplay environment. Users range from editors & producers to senior corporate executives. Utilize CSRs to help provide uniform and constant coverage during operating hours.
• Train co-workers and operational personnel when necessary on systems and workflows such as Media Central ,Vantage ,Aspera.
• Monitor system performance though a console displaying system activity, bottlenecks within content flow, and warning & errors that could impact user satisfaction.
• Prioritize content flow and system output through the Avid Interplay system by proactively re-allocating resources and adjusting parameters
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Analytical Skills
a) Communication and interpersonal skills
b) Ability to analyze complex workflows
c) Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning skills
d) Ability to prioritize
2. Technical/Functional Competencies
a) Comprehensive knowledge of Avid Interplay environment.
b) Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems related to television technology
c) Good understanding of network protocols and systems
d) Good understanding of Active Directory /LDAP
e) Network switch (Cisco /Arista) configuration
f) Must be able to multitask
g) Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly and convey to non-technical personnel any issues that have been resolved
h) Ability to work without direct supervision
3. Key Experiences/Achievements
a) Minimum 5 years in television engineering experience
b) Maintenance and operational knowledge of computer based editing systems (Macintosh and PC based)
c) Experience with file server and network infrastructure
f) Knowledge of transcoding platforms and distribution (Vantage , Rhozet, Radiant etc.)
g) Exposure to Media Asset Management systems and practices at other television facilities a plus.
h) Experience supporting a large user community in a technical environment a plus.
