We’re looking for the next generation of talented undergraduates to join our team for an unforgettable 10 week internship. Bringing the latest educational products and services to market is a highly collaborative process that requires a diverse range of skills and disciplines - from UX and engineering to marketing and managing rights and royalties.
As one of our interns you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. You’ll be assigned to a team and work on real life projects that bring our products and services to life. On the job training and professional development will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the ten week program.

Department Overview
The Office of Chief Information Security Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining Pearson-wide security and risk management programmes. This team safeguards the confidentiality and security of all information assets, including learner, customer and business data.
Key Accountabilities
As a direct report to CISO Information Security Manager within the CISO Business Operations function, the Intern will:
• Support the development of reporting, interacting with the CISO leadership and supporting the organization.
• Lead the tracking of key Information Security initiatives. Gathering data and performing data analysis.
• Align to the Pearson Project/Product delivery lifecycle to ensure alignment and engage with key stakeholders across the business.
• Lead small technical efforts.
• Gather and analyze information or data on current and future trends of best practice. Seeks information on issues impacting the progress of organizational and process issues. Translates up to date information into continuous improvement activities that enhance performance.
Key Competencies
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with experience of working with all levels of the business, often remotely via video conferencing.
• The ability to interact with Pearson’s personnel, build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understand business imperatives.
• Voluntarily takes the first steps to identify and address existing and potential obstacles, issues, and opportunities.
• Ability to prioritise workload according to deadlines.
• Proficiency in gathering and analyzing information or data..
• Knowledge of and experience in technical business delivery.
• Knowledge of and experience of creating dashboards and reports.
Qualifications
The following qualifications will be required:
• Working towards a degree in information systems, computer science or equivalent work experience with a graduation date between 2018 and 2020
• Previous internship or co-op experience delivering technical solutions
• Previous internship or co-op experience with a global company is a plus
• Previous internship or co-op experience with Security Systems
• Understanding of technology based organisations
• Strong/advanced skills with Microsoft and/or Google Office Suite e.g Word, Google sheets, Google Forms, Powerpoint etc.
• Jira and Planview knowledge a plus.
• Minimum GPA of 3.2
What Does the Internship Program Offer?
Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our product and technology teams.
As one of our interns you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. You’ll be assigned to a team and work on real life projects that bring our products and services to life. On the job training and professional development will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will receive coaching and mentoring to help you make the most of the ten week program.
You’ll be paid for the duration of your internship. The internship begins on Monday June 4 and ends Friday August 17.
