DIRECTOR, STRATEGY AND CONSULTING – TEAM SAMSUNG
Reports to Chief Experience Officer, One Team Samsung | SR_ Strategy and Consulting Lead
We are looking for a unique individual to join our growing team of Strategy Consultants.
We are the integrative thinkers that build the most effective strategies and marketing solutions for Samsung based on the capabilities at SapientRazorfish_ and Publicis Groupe.
You are someone who can frame out strategic choices for Senior Executives, translate that into a marketing strategy, and brief an integrative marketing team and their agencies all in the same day.
You have a deep curiosity about why and how the consumer behaves the way that they do, but you can also intersect that with Samsung’s business strategy. You have tremendous depth in understanding the intricacies of modern-day marketing and have the people skills to be successful.

Strategic Thinking
• Develop strategic plans that maps the portfolio to target consumers to points in the journey
• Serve as the voice-of-the-consumer in internal and external conversations
• Synthesize strategic narratives based on multi-modal data sources – 1st and 2nd party big data, syndicated data sets, primary quantitative and qualitative research, analyst reports, and anything else available
• You are equally comfortable building strategic frameworks, as you are building business cases, as you are briefing creative, data, and technology teams
• You are a connector both in the way that you think, as well as how you build relationships
• You will bring a talent for abstract thinking, spotting trends and patterns, an innate curiosity and insight into human behavior, an instinct for popular culture, plus a nuanced understanding of creative work.
Marketing and Agency Acumen
• You understand that modern-day marketing has to be integrated, given how consumers experience brands
• You know how to socialize ideas, gain alignment, and brief in teams to do the work
• You can develop brand plans that execute on key strategies and demonstrate ROI as a prioritization lens
• You can add structure to harness the complexity of marketing automation
• You have your finger on the pulse of innovation and cultural trends, but know how to make them relevant to Samsung
You understand the agency environment and how to influence in the absence of formal reporting lines
You can short circuit swirl quickly
Client and Team Leadership Skills
• You excel at client service and have a demonstrated track record of being a trusted advisor
• You will be mapped to C-level, VP, and Director level clients and need to be very comfortable with that
• Your communication and relationship skills with clients at all levels are impeccable and differentiated by type of interaction – presentation, email, dinner, firedrill etc.
• You can lead and develop a team of ~7 direct reports, plus many more cross-functionally
• You work well with cross-functional teams, often dispersed across time zones
• You collaborate well with external partners – other agencies, platform partners, and vendors
• You effectively manage your executives
Requirements:
• Played a lead role in building: Strategic Plans, Tactical Plans, and Budgets
• 8-10 years of experience with a rapid trajectory
• MBA preferred
• Liberal arts degree from a top institution, preferred
• 95% in self-awareness with demonstrated success in using that in a business context
• NYC-based with up to 50% travel
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing direction
• Unphased if you do not meet all of these criteria, because you have a plan to figure it out quickly
• Able to have fun with the role
