Technical Program Manager, Instagram Creation & Communication

As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within the product and engineering teams, assessing the quality and usability of features going out to production. You will work with multiple teams, internally and externally, to ensure people have the best possible experience capturing moments with Instagram. This is a full-time position based in our main office in Menlo Park and San Francisco. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, knowledgeable mobile product development, passionate about photography, comfortable in a flat, fast moving organization, excited to collaborate, and focused squarely on impacting the Instagram product and business.
Responsibilities
• Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones of your team
• Understand and own metrics and key performance indicators.
• Drive internal and external process improvements across engineering group, measuring impact by defining meaningful metrics to meet company quality goals.
• Help teams understand cross dependencies with efficiency, performance, and quality efforts.
• Spot and creatively solve complex, cross-functional operational issues, often unique to each project and third-party vendor.
• Communicate status and big picture to the project team and management.
• Ability to map dependencies and relationships between projects and teams.
• Establish excellent working relations with all partners with an emphasis on unblocking team members when they are stuck, providing day-to-day coordination projects and tasks.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
• B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Organizational and coordination skills along with multitasking capabilities to get things done in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of relevant technologies, can explain architectures of main systems.
• Communication, coordination, and organizational skills and experience getting things done in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work directly with highly technical engineering teams and senior management.
• Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, experienced engineering group.
• 2+ years experience in Program Management and Product Management.
• Experience in software project life cycle management.
• Ability or experience to work at scale, and with 24x7 product engineering teams.
• Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Mobile or start-up environment and technical management experience.
