Cumulus Media DC is aggressively building its digital media position in the online audio marketplace and is looking to hire a Digital Content Producer/Digital Sales Assistant.
We are seeking a self-starter who is motivated and has excellent skills in time management, prioritizing, and communication. This individual must be organized, reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented. The Digital Content Producer/Digital Sales Assistant will report to the General Manager.
Cumulus Washington, DC currently features 2 stations in the DC Metro Area and the surrounding counties. WRQX and WMAL reach well over a million listeners on a daily basis. Our Opportunity:
Cumulus DC has an immediate opening for a full time Digital Content Producer/Digital Sales Assistant at its broadcast facilities. This individual will help to ensure that all web operations run smoothly and that the interactive properties reflect station priorities, grow audience/traffic, offer unique content appropriate to particular show/brand, and ultimately grow revenue from the interactive properties. The Digital Content Producer/Digital Sales Assistant is responsible for implementing ad campaigns (audio and/or display) across various platforms (online, mobile, and devices) and must possess knowledge of banner sales and design, Targeted Email, mobile platforms, social media, SEM, SEO and website fundamentals. The position will be responsible for content creation and support, developing reports and pulling analytics, troubleshooting station web site issues, designing web and social media graphics, and executing campaigns across the WMAL & WRQX websites.
General Responsibilities
• Update station websites, content, show schedule, and promotions
• Work collaboratively with the Sales and Programming departments to ensure that any web-related digital campaign has been executed to the client’s expectations
• Project management, scheduling, and production of website content
• Troubleshoot website related issues and work with third-parties to resolve development or functionality issues
• Train new users on how to use the web systems
• Responsible for detailed tracking of web analytics to ensure that programming choices support audience growth and engagement
• Work with show personalities and show producers to identify web opportunities to grow audience of the on-air shows and online
• Define show voices in the social media space and develop social media strategies
• Designing graphics for web, social media, print, sales initiatives
• Creating, editing, and posting photo and video content
• Posting content on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat)
• Maintain and design station e-newsletters
• Maintain mobile text database
• Monitor campaign performance across all digital solutions
• Gather, analyze and provide reporting results on all digital campaigns for customers and account executives
• Support creative process across all digital platforms
• Renew all campaigns for account executives
• Be confident to convey campaign status and optimizations to clients
• Create strong integrated digital and Radio media solutions with supporting validation
• Analyze campaigns to optimize future solutions to maximize client’s ROI
• Work with cross-functional Cumulus teams (Marketing, Creative Services, Paid Search, Display, Analytics, etc.) to manage processes
• Research, amass, and analyze competitive data
Qualifications/ Requirements
• BA or BS degree – Marketing, Information Systems, Web Design, or Business is preferred
• Full understanding of websites – public-facing and admin areas
• Strong web background, with content management system experience a plus
• Basic knowledge of Flash, HTML, and JavaScript preferred
• Technical proficiency, graphic design capabilities, and audio/video editing skills to create and program content opportunities
• Attention to detail is a must
• Excellent time/project management skills; Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills across all teams to get things done efficiently and correctly
• Solid understanding of advertising campaign metrics
• Extensive experience in social media and blogging, either personal or professional
• Minimum three years of experience producing content for the web
• Advanced HTML skills a plus
• Experience shooting and editing photos and video
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, as well as Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere
• Strong knowledge of pop culture, latest trends in music and entertainment, as well as a passion for all things digital: web, mobile apps, social media, and streaming content
• May be required to work hours related to morning or evening shows/promotions as necessary
