Associate Strategist
The Strategy Department of Meredith Xcelerated Marketing is looking for an Associate Strategist. This role is important as MXM continues to expand its leadership position within the agency landscape. The Strategy Department functions as the thought leader on client engagements and new business proposals and this candidate will play an important role in supporting many agency activities.
The ideal candidate has the ability to think independently and analytically and help create strategy for both new business and existing accounts. In addition, he/she must have extremely good writing skills in both prose and PowerPoint formats and be able to draft briefs and parts of strategic plans.
Additionally, this position must have excellent team and project management skills, as most plans require cross-discipline collaboration and maintain good to very good presentation skills.
Essential Job Functions

30 Independently conduct quantitative and qualitative research to provide appropriate insights into key strategy deliverables. This includes leveraging proprietary and syndicated resources, determining appropriate source dependent on the task, reviewing source materials to determine key takeaways and presenting to internals teams and sometimes clients
30 Develop presentations that provide a persuasive recommendation for both internal and external usage. This includes development of value propositions, content audits, customer journeys, and tactical POVs.
20 Ongoing research, keeping up-to-date on new innovations across paid, earned and shared. This includes consumer trends, industry best practices, and shifts in consumer behaviors.
10 Collaborate with other MXM strategists to contribute to brief development, synthesizing multiple facets of a project into an actionable document.
10 Leverage previous experience to own a unique focus within the digital landscape, using that specialty to become a go-to-resource for internal teams.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or substantial professional experience required.
Experience:
Previous experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications.
Demonstrated experience of using social media in personal or professional setting.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of social media channels and the online space from a marketing and communications perspective.
Exceptional interpersonal and written/verbal and analytical skills combined with effective communications skills.
Ability to work in fast-paced team oriented environment.
Must be well organized with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
Strong ability with Excel, PowerPoint, Word
