On a monthly basis, the desktop/mobile websites and native apps for those media properties attract more than 120 million unique visitors, generate nearly two billion page views, and 100 million video views.
What You’ll Do:
The Director, Video Product Management will be expected to grow the value and utility of our video product suite in an evolving, fast-moving industry, with success measured by product-specific KPIs. To succeed in this role, you must possess a unique blend of video and digital savvy, working closely with both creative stakeholders and technology development teams.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of and has an informed perspective on evolving customer experience, emerging technologies and business needs that will drive the Video product strategy.
Specifically, the Product Management Director will be responsible for overseeing the roadmap, refinement and evolution of video product lines, cross-platform. S/he will work with leadership and internal stakeholders to identify and solve for complex functionality, provide consistent analysis for performance and testing and position the video product experience for measurable growth.
This role is inherently cross-functional, working closely with technology, project management, design, operations, business development, customer service, content and executive teams. Candidates should have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversight of editorial production workflows, metadata enrichment, asset management, syndication feeds, infrastructure support of off-platform distribution partnerships (including OTT) and programmatic monetization.
• Partner with User Experience and Technology leads on research and discovery, requirements gathering and product rollout.
• Work closely with cross-functional leadership to optimize the integration and presentation of video to consumers in the most seamless ways, while identifying opportunities to innovate.
• Take ownership for prioritization and product development, ensuring alignment with changing business needs. Solicit ideas and feedback, define options and translate into a timeline of deliverables.
• Create clear and measurable KPIs related to the timely creation and enhancement of high-quality products that support critical business objectives and multiple stakeholders.
• Manage and interface with external vendors in the following areas: vendor selection, contract management, ongoing troubleshooting, and regular vendor relationship management and interaction. Responsible for managing quality and service levels of selected vendors.
Qualifications:
• Passion for understanding digital video consumers and their preferences/behavior.
• Well-versed in delivering streaming digital media experiences, with a proven track record helping to grow audience and revenue for consumer-facing brands.
• 2-4 years of Agile scrum experience in a product role for a consumer-facing product.
• Able to think critically and constructively about complex business problems, clearly communicating analysis, and presenting solutions that address business needs.
• Fluency in human-centered product discovery methods such as design thinking.
• Experience using data and metrics to independently test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success with attention to detail.
