SUMMARY – The inside sales manager of their Private sector sales team is responsible for the oversight of sales and operational activities for their region as well as a sales accountability of a truncated sales territory. The manager will recruit, train, coach, and assist in the creation of course and programmatic solutions with P&Ls that are beneficial to both Pearson and the client. The manager is accountable for sales forecasts and analysis, along with financial management of company resources. The Manager is responsible for providing year round assessment and feedback of each direct report to promote growth, development, and success for Pearson. The manager will be responsible for all aspects of selling, managing and executing sales including off-the-shelf and customized solutions, as well as services for their own territory as well as support this responsibility for each of their direct reports.

Supervisory responsibilities: This role will manage approximately 3 - 5 direct reports
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 5 years management experience leading successful solutions-based sales, education, preferred Private Sector (Career College) experience, or publishing experience
• Strong educational technology background
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
• Solid presentations, account development, and leadership skills are necessary to motivate staff and achieve sales targets.
• Assess and assume responsibility for appropriate culture shifts and/or sales accountability
• Proven ability to organize, prioritize, plan, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal) for working closely with a wide variety of internal departments as well as working with a broad customer base.
• Strong comprehension of product, media, services, and customized solutions
• Ability to travel as necessary to fulfill core job functions in assigned area
• General proficiency with MS Office Suite applications , SFDC, and ability to learn additional software programs quickly including Pearson digital solutions and services

Reliable attendance and punctuality is critical to successful performance in this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
20% Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients via on-site meetings, phone calls, WebEx and email. Conduct territory analysis to successfully determine account priorities and sales strategies
15% Conduct analysis / discovery of customer needs in order to gain a clear understanding of how to position Pearson products / services
20% Articulate and promote Pearson products and services to designated private sector accounts, including both off-the-shelf and customized content and solutions.
30% Develop territory and account plans on regular basis (to be determined by management)
5% Represent Pearson at trade shows and events in the territory
10% Gather and share market, industry, competitive, and customer information, as appropriate. Scout talent for potential ESC hiring needs
