Associate Operations Manager, Visa and Immigration
The Blizzard Esports team is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Visa and Immigration specialist to join our growing Travel and Hospitality program.
The primary focus of this position will be owning inbound and outbound Visa related projects, and requires a keen understanding of regional travel constraints, Visa requisition and best practices in the travel mobility industry. This role works with Blizzard Esports franchise teams and the operations team to support travel and mobility for competitive Blizzard events world-wide.
The ideal candidate for this position has experience with Visa and immigration processes in multiple countries. They can demonstrate the ability to manage multiple initiatives at once in a fast-paced environment while coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Experience in communicating with international partners and reviewing immigration documentation is a big plus for us. Finally, this person should harbour passion for Blizzard games, our Esports products and providing best-in-class travel service.
This is a full-time position at our office in Irvine, California Responsibilities
• Oversee the Visa and Immigration process from start to finish for professional players and competitors
• Provide Visa guidance and support to any employee, contractor, player or talent involved in Blizzard Esports events (both inbound and outbound personnel), in collaboration with the Esports Travel and Hospitality team.
• Manage personnel records and produce regular reports on the status of Visa applications for all planned events.
• Design and facilitate pre-arrival and post arrival Visa information sessions.
• Maintain existing Visa and Immigration programs, while evolving each program to suit current and future needs of Blizzard Esports.
• Research and analyse immigration requirements in foreign jurisdictions for review by the Travel and Hospitality team.
• Assist in development of new Visa, Immigration, and travel mobility processes, while actively aligning with Blizzard Regional teams and other internal stakeholders.
• Create and maintain Visas and Compliance related content, documents and forms on various digital platforms.
• Assist in evaluating vendors for Visa and Immigration support by country, region, or globally.
• Create and/or maintain relationships with all internal and regional staff assisting the Travel and Hospitality team.
• Work with global teams and players to assist with organizing international travel.
• Provide triage to travel arrangements when requirements change or customers miss travel plans.
• Monitor, track, and report any expenses incurred by travel mobility or Visa related initiatives.
Requirements
• An interest in Esports, the esports community, and Blizzard games
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience with event travel, hospitality, and logistics planning
• Experience in obtaining travel Visas and/or working through various immigration procedures
• Travel and Hospitality planning experience across simultaneous or overlapping event schedules
• Impeccable interpersonal and diplomacy skills, with strong ability to negotiate toward positive results for multiple stakeholders
• Able to interact effectively with community influencers, professional gamers, support staff and business partners
• Experience working with international teams and exposure to multi-cultural environments
• Organized, extremely detail-focused, and driven to consistently meet project deadlines
• Excellent communications skills in verbal and written English
• High Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word.
• Able to travel for work, including international travel
Pluses
• Active participant or leader within the Blizzard esports communities
• Experience in events, sports or esports live video production and broadcasting
• Experience in Confluence and Jira with a passion for documentation
• Fluent in Korean, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, or other foreign languages
