Job Description:
Amplify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work with our Digital Curriculum Division. Amplify is at the forefront of education innovation and has been involved with some of the most highly regarded projects in the country. We take new software ideas from concept to launch.
We are currently seeking an experienced developer for an innovative new product. The product is to be used with students in the classroom on a one-to-one basis. The product is made up of multiple projects that include back-end services and front-end applications.
Responsibilities:
• Write elegant, maintainable and extensible code. Code that is accessible, optimized for performance, and meets the highest possible quality standards
• Effectively communicate technology implications and blockers in a clear and timely manner to manager and stakeholders
• Participate in requirements gathering and functional specification activities, providing feedback on implementation feasibility
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate front-end code with other technologies including server side code, APIs and web services, and content management systems when required
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ experience developing applications
• 2+ years’ experience with HTML5, HTML5 Canvas, CSS3, JavaScript with one of the popular JavaScript MV* / MVC frameworks (like Angular or React)
• 2+ years experience developing RESTful APIs
• Understanding of database technology (SQL/Hibernate)
• Proven experience with cross-browser compatibility, fluid and adaptive layouts
Preferred Qualifications:
• CSS/SCSS
• Twitter Bootstrap
• D3 or similar chart library experience
• Dropwizard
• Git
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Experience with Educational Software
