Starz is currently seeking business intelligence and data science leader to join the Insight and Analytics department. She/he will serve as a change agent in the company – developing and implementing next generation dashboards, predictive models, and marketing automation.
The candidate will be highly collaborative and work cross-functionally to help the Insights & Analytics team provide actionable insights to the business units. The role is highly visible and includes senior management stakeholders within marketing, product, IT, and development departments.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with SVP, Insight & Analytics to build advanced dashboards, predictive/prescriptive models, and automated marketing tools.
• Partner with web/app developers and internal business intelligence teams to ensure all product and customer data is thoroughly and accurately captured, cleaned, and made available on timely basis to internal databases
• Manage team that models data in preparation for use with data visualization tools such as Tableau/Cognos and/or fully customized HTML5 dashboards
• Work with internal constituents to define use cases, develop requirements, and QC dashboards
• Manage external team of third party vendors that builds and maintains dashboards and automated marketing tools
• Manage small internal and extensive external team of data scientists
• Work closely with all members of Insights & Analytics teams to define requirements for ad hoc descriptive and predictive analytics
Required Skills:
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields; Advanced degree in Machine Learning, Statistics or related fields
• 8-10 years’ experience handling, modeling, and extracting insights from mid to large scale data sets
• 2-5 years managing internal and third party data engineering and data science teams
• Demonstrated ability to build statistical/machine learning software modules and libraries/applications using modern programming languages
• Significant experience developing LTV, churn, and other customer focused models
• Significant experience working with data from and automating marketing functions on the major digital and social ad platforms, e.g. Facebook, Google Ad Words/DCM/DBM, etc
• Experience working in corporate setting while having comfort with startup-like environment – experiment, fail fast, discern and share intelligence.
• Significant experience ingesting data from and working with Google 360 a significant plus
• Experience in the television industry a significant plus, but not a requirement
• Travel to Denver on bi-weekly or monthly basis
