Description
Autodesk is looking for a UX Designer to design delightful and intuitive experiences for Autodesk global web properties. The role of the UX Designer will be to develop IA, wireframes, mock ups, and prototypes for our customer facing websites.

Location: San Francisco, CA
Primary Responsibilities
• Gather and synthesize business requirements and input from multiple sources including product management, marketing, customers, engineering, content strategy, analytics, and visual designers.
• Translate user needs and business requirements into features and functionality enhancement to company websites.
• Conduct usability research to gather user requirements including ethnographic observation, workflow analyses and contextual inquiry. Create prototypes (high and low fidelity) for use in usability testing. Work with usability testing specialists to define, plan and execute usability tests.
• Design web user interfaces to improve user productivity, discoverability and simplicity.
• Create alternative design solutions, evaluating them to choose the best approach. Meet and collaborate with users and business partners to validate conceptual designs.
• Design and develop UX specification documents (i.e. use cases, wire frames, conceptual models, user interaction flow diagrams, page schematics, information architectures, and/or prototypes) to outline web features and functionality.
• Deliver design documentation for use by a wide range of audiences including Product Management, Social Networking, Web Editorial, Web Development, QA, and publishing team.
• Define, document, and communicate UX standards and style guides for Autodesk websites.
• Facilitate presentations and discussions with users, developers, and product marketers to drive resolution on proposed web features and functionality.
• Partner with business partners, web marketing, publishing and development teams to drive successful implementation of UX design. Resolve implementation issues that affect the design.
• Maintain familiarity with other websites to ensure web best practices are followed. Provide leadership in user-centered design methods.
Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required (Master's a plus) in HCI, Interaction Design, Library Science, or other relevant field.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience design work
• Approximately 1-3 years Interaction Design experience designing compelling, simple, and elegant online user experiences.
• Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills. Must be able to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale to non-design partners and peers.
• Ability to think and work strategically: Understanding the user problem, user tasks, goals first and working with low / high-fidelity wireframes.
• Experience working on several projects and with different stakeholder groups concurrently
• Strong understanding of the technologies used to deliver large web experiences, understand feasibility of different designs and performance implications.
• Excellent understanding of web design and development process and experience working in an agile development environment
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, Familiarity with usability research methods. Mastery of design and production tools, including Sketch and Invision.
• Attention to detail and craftsmanship. Ability to juggle multiple projects and thinking across different web experiences
• Fast learner, self-starter, Team player
