Job Description
Nexstar Media in Austin, Texas, seeks a Digital Sales Director to lead an experienced, high performing sales team. Austin is ranked 39th in DMA and kxan.com is the top local news website. The ideal candidate will have a full understanding of digital metrics and the ability to learn new processes and have the instinct to optimize campaigns. The candidate needs to be a people person and will be responsible for developing small to large-scale new business clients as well as growing digital revenue from our existing accounts.
The Digital Sales Director will work with a team of account executives to create and sell a variety of integrated digital solutions which may include but are not limited to: Banner and video advertising on local media news websites; Mobile, Social Media, SEM/SEO/Display solutions both in and outside of the market area. The DSD will teach and motivate this local sales team. He/She will also work with local and national sales managers. Other responsibilities include ascertaining and supervising research needs, developing business plans, and managing inventory, pricing, and production. We’re looking for a strong sales professional who will build on our great momentum by leading and directing our team to new levels of success. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of digital content and advertising. Successful candidates should also have media sales experience; sales management experience is required.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the sales marketing lead generating revenue from digital marketing services for clients
• Develop and execute go-to-market sales strategies that result in exceeding revenue targets in Digital Marketing Services
• Responsible for delivering and marketing a powerful suite of local digital marketing products and services that help local SMB’s grow successfully
• Develop local sales strategies in major industry verticals (auto, medical, etc.)with clear goals and measurable objectives that can be tied to revenue growth.
• Establish, maintain and grow relationships with advertisers and agencies
• Position and pre-sell all opportunities to highlight the benefit and value proposition in the marketplace
• Consistently communicate with clients on all business activity
• Complete knowledge of the market and competitive landscape
• Utilize a consultative sales approach to develop strategic understanding of client’s business and marketing needs
• Meet and exceed performance management targets for account activity and revenue generation
• Serve as an advisor to GM and DOS and help make informed decisions on key issues surrounding digital marketing objectives
• Establish key relationships within the local business community in order to effectively build and maintain digital marketing services revenue vs. budget
Experience:
• 5+ years of digital media sales, marketing or digital agency experience preferred
• Significant knowledge of the digital advertising landscape including Paid Search, Programmatic Ad buying, Social Media Management, Mobile Strategy etc.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter who is able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Effective communication and client presentation skills
• Ability to interact with high-level decision makers
• Ability to sell through a consultative sales experience
• Ability to sell a vast array of products
• Excellent follow-up, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals and secure revenue goals
• Interest and passion for digital trends and how they relate to the media/ broadcast industry
