Responsibilities:
Project Management
• Manage development of digital assets that populate book-specific web sites and learning management systems in coordination with book development to make media an integral part of the book story.
• Manage product design, product implementation and tracking of all project details.
• Set up, own, and monitor budgets and schedules.
• Facilitate communication among acquisitions editors, marketing, and in-house technical teams to develop products accordingly.
• Write project planning documents, launch memos, and multimedia asset spreadsheets.
• Create Requests For Proposals (RFP), solicit bids from vendors, and write contracts.
• Hire and manage cross-functional teams, including vendors, content-providers, freelancers, full-service project management vendors and quality assurance vendors.
Digital Strategy
• Collaborate with Acquisitions Editors, Marketing Managers, Sales Representatives, and Learning Technology Specialists to obtain feedback regarding market needs and to provide updates on Pearson and competitors’ products.
• Evaluate potential digital products and advise Acquisitions Editors upon request.
• Support Acquisitions Editors in signings where digital content plays a critical a role.
• Work with Marketing Manager to prepare competitive analyses and product feature descriptions for digital products.
• Work on market research projects in collaboration with the market research team, including the creation of surveys and the planning of focus groups for assigned projects; includes writing questionnaires and follow-up questions.
Sales/Marketing Support
• National sales meeting preparation support (review marketing materials, provide samples as necessary, create walkthrough scripts of digital assets, etc.)
• Resolve queries as they are escalated from sales reps, professors, and Customer Technical Support.
• Upon request, attend national conferences. Responsibilities may include: research competitor media, coordinate focus groups, demonstrate Pearson products, and attend educational lectures on how digital content is being used in and out of classroom.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in a digital creative production role, with 1 year specifically producing educational software and managing cross-functional teams.
• Mastery of complex content and scheduling systems, and ability to track large amount of information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to gain consensus among stakeholders and to interact with internal departments using professional interpersonal skills and solutions oriented approach.
• An understanding of technical product management including products using JavaScript, HTML, XML, CMS, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Must possess an intellectual curiosity and passion for educational content and an eagerness to stay abreast of the ever-changing nature of software tools.
• B.A. or BS required
