Associate Producer, Entertainment Weekly
Location: New York, NY
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Position Summary:
Candidate will be responsible for assisting the Program Director and host with the producing of daily and specialty programming on Entertainment Weekly Radio. The candidate will assist with daily content prep, recording, editing, and planning of a daily show both in and out of studio. Also responsible for producing and assisting with specialty programming on the channel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works with program director, producers, and hosts to design overall sound, style, and image of daily show and specialty programming on the channel.
• Researchers topics, pitches guest and topics to daily show host.
• Extensive audio editing and pre-production work.
• Guest booking and interview prep as assigned by host & Program Director.
• Participates in other production and/or creative duties as required by host and program director "day of show."
• Participates in creative meetings to brainstorm ideas for show and specials.
• Prepares weekly/daily show promos and run downs.
• Produces special projects and specials related to program and/or channel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience in audio production environment.
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Has a vast knowledge and passion for pop culture. TV, movies, music, books, etc.
• Ability to prioritize assignments in a changing topical landscape.
• Excellent creative writing and communication skills.
• Ability to recognize stories with potential and develop them into compelling broadcast content.
• Ability to execute ideas.
• Highly detail oriented.
• Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work nights/weekends and/or travel for special production needs.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in:
◦ Microsoft Office,
◦ Adobe Audition,
◦ Prophet Experience,
◦ Mixing sound elements into a professional sounding product,
◦ Operating an audio board,
• Experience with social media platforms, including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, etc.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
