Position Summary:
SiriusXM is seeking a strategic Vice President of Sports Advertising Sales, with extensive category expertise to maximize revenue across all appropriate channels and regions. The VP would bring a demonstrated record of leveraging both strong client and agency relationships, as well as a deep understanding of multi-layered promotions, sponsorships and packaging, to increase advertising schedules with SiriusXM. The New York-based position would report into the SVP, Advertising Sales.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of sports account executive in all aspects of the sales process.
• Extensive knowledge of SiriusXM's various sports channel personalities and programming details.
• Work with sports programming team and talent to create on-air, online and event opportunities.
• Active participation with the marketing team to create incremental revenue opportunities via sports packages and programs.
• Both identify and sell key target accounts across regions with both regional VP's and their account representatives.
• Proactively ensure success at all stages of the sales cycle, including prospecting development, deal and concept ideation, closing business and servicing accounts.
• Identify and make recommendations to clients for the most appropriate SiriusXM channels, programs, units and time slots.
• Negotiate and sell advertising time to national advertisers and ad agencies, using corporate pricing parameters.
• Communicate advertising and contract arrangements to the client.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Individual will manage a team of account managers in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with a minimum of 5 years in sales management, preferably in a media or sports related business.
• Deep expertise and relationships in sports advertising and related fields.
• Proven ability to meet annual revenue targets and effectively lead sales teams to maximum performance.
Requirements and General Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.

• Strong organizational skills and focused attention to details.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, in a fast-paced work environment.
• Experience in national/network radio sales a plus.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
