HR Director, Manufacturing & Construction Product Group

In this role you will serve as the lead HR Business Partner for the Manufacturing and Construction Product Group (MCP). The scope of this role is broad in terms of overall delivery of HR programs and people management for the MCP group, while also providing deep HR consultation and partnership with 2 divisions within MCP (Manufacturing and Experience Design). This role reports to and will work closely with the Vice President, HRBP for MCP.
As a key contributor in the development of the organization's strategic plans and objectives, you will be responsible for driving the division's HR strategy through creation of the Human Resource Plan to meet organizational objectives.
The main responsibilities of this role are to:
• Participate as a strategic business partner, change agent and member of the line management staff.
• Drive organizational structure, content of jobs, and establishment of performance standards within MCP. Review and provide guidance on promotional and compensation change decisions.
• Oversee company-wide and division-wide programs and initiatives for MCP (e.g., pay for performance and total rewards, workforce planning and organizational change).
• Partner with the extended HR team to bring in HR functional specialists in training, compensation, organizational design, and staffing as appropriate.
• Monitor effectiveness of all HR policies, practices and processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Provide analysis to management on a variety of HR related measures, recommend and implement improvements to achieve and deliver improved results.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and Diversity & Inclusion team to provide strategic context and direction for workforce planning and strategic diversity hiring.
• Accountable for HRBP due diligence, representing the business strategy/context and executing mergers, acquisitions, integrations, divestitures and redeployments for the Manufacturing division within MCP. All of this requires close collaboration with our M&A specialist team, legal and other specialist functions.
• Manage performance management and employee relations issues by acting as a resource to employees and managers by providing guidance and counsel. This requires collaboration with local Geo HR partners. Consult with employees and managers to address root causes of work-related problems and issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach. Conduct confidential internal HR related investigations as needed.
• Oversee and facilitate the focus on executive, leadership and management development. Ensure comprehensive development and succession plans are in place for key positions. Drive manager development efforts throughout client groups including leading skills development workshops, encouraging participation in training and development, and working with managers to create development plans.
• Accountable for organizational design, organization development and culture initiatives for the Manufacturing division to include organizational diagnosis methods, vision and strategy facilitation, meeting/offsite facilitation, and creating/implementing solutions that will enable the business to achieve it’s goals.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for building relationships, can balance corporate and client needs, be an experienced HR professional preferably in high growth, high tech and global environments. Experience in partnering with engineering and development teams a plus. A global orientation, attention to details and process but also the business savvy to match are critical. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are also needed along with the ability to demonstrate flexibility and collaborate within a matrixed and cross-geography team environment.

As a member of the Manufacturing leadership team, you will attend leadership meetings to provide input to business decisions. Coaching leaders and managers. Creating solutions, influencing decisions, synthesizing information and data to formulate recommendations as it relates to people and culture. Hands on execution and implementation of programs and initiatives. Resolution of day-to-day operational, business and employee relations issues. You will need to operate at both a strategic level and roll up your sleeves when needed.
Job Requirements
• 15+ years experience in strategic business partner roles interfacing with leaders at the C-staff level through front line managers and employees.
• 5+ years experience preferred working in specialist functions such organization development, employee relations, staffing, compensation, M&A, learning and executive development, etc.
• Proven experience in supporting global teams through large scale organizational change.
• Strong influencing and communication skills; ability to navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels, and assert an “unpopular” opinion when necessary.
• Proven ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers.
• Coaching experience informing, guiding and advising managers on HR related initiatives.
• Experience providing employee relations support to clients in multiple locations around the globe.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated technical savvy including Microsoft Office and remote communications tools.
• Strong hands-on and operational skills. This role can be detailed at times.
• Strong project and process management skills.
• BA or BS in HR, business or related field.
