Blizzard’s localization team is looking for a localization director to manage the localization & editorial staff and daily operations of its localization team. This includes facilitating communication between our internal teams and external localization houses. The ideal candidate should have superior organization and communication skills and 8 years of experience in managing a localization team. Additionally, candidates should have shipped multiple titles as a localization manager or similar position.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Work with the development, localization, and other HQ teams to ensure that the Localization standard is being upheld.
• Work with other Localization Managers for the translations of Blizzard games, websites, and web applications as required.
• Mentor personnel to facilitate growth within the department and company -- provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when necessary.
• Ensure all employees receive timely feedback via structured one on ones.
• Support all Blizzard employee developmental programs.
• Maintain all management database tools.
• Monitor key performance indicators to evaluate efficiency and make change as necessary.
• Interview, test, hire and assist with training full-time and temporary employees.
• Ensure employees are properly rewarded via our recognition programs.
• Track employee attendance and verify timesheets for accuracy.
• Enforce human resources and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist in creating and driving business metrics.
• Formulate and execute succession planning programs.
• Develop communications and tools for managers that support employee development.
• Partner with Learning and OD to integrate core leadership and management principles into the department.
• Long term resource planning and short to medium term execution against those plans.
• Capable of arranging team resources properly.
• Maintain and build upon a positive work environment.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• 8+ years people management experience
• 10+ years localization experience
• Lead, supervisory, or managerial experience in a software Localization or Test environment.
• Vendor management experience
• A passion for games (especially Blizzard titles)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills both in Korean and English
• Self-motivation
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed
• Ability to work well as both a team Leader and Individual contributor
• Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office products
• Experience overseeing and improving the localization process for multiple projects
• Ability to plan and manage the department budgets
