Position Summary:
Pearson Online and Blended Learning (formerly Connections Education) is looking for a savvy Senior Search Marketing Specialist to join the Demand Generation team onsite in our office in Columbia, MD. This is an opportunity to work with one of the leading employers in Maryland, and have an immediate impact on a great global cause.
Responsibilities:
● Assist with identifying content opportunities that have the most impact on serving prospects, customers and search engines. Evaluate the health of the websites by performing audits to address issues, errors and identify onsite-SEO opportunities.
● Schedule the production, optimization and promotion of new content with the objective of driving organic search traffic, consumer loyalty and advocacy.
● Ability to gather, structure and analyze web analytics data to offer insights that drive the optimization of website performance and evaluate success of online marketing initiatives.
● Develops long-term roadmaps and customer focused SEO strategies to achieve business objectives. Define, prioritize, and manage the execution of key SEO tactical initiatives.
● Perform keyword research and develop keyword strategies.
● Ensure that all website properties are optimized to attract and engage those visitors that closely match the agreed profile of the target audience.
● Develop protocols and standards that ensure content is optimized across all platforms and user experiences.
● Advises respective stakeholders of the impact that technical structure, design, content, information architecture, branding, performance, functionality have on SEO.
● Manage reporting on performance indicators for SEO that everyone understands and show progress toward overall marketing and business objectives.
● Stay current with industry best practices and search engine technologies.
● Quickly and clearly examines algorithm changes, opportunities and best practice solutions that are applicable to site properties.
● Manage SEO agency
● Create, manage and distribute data and insights via regular and ad-hoc reporting on the health of company websites to appropriate stakeholders.
Qualifications
Requirements:
● Bachelor's Degree.
● At least 5 years of experience in search engine optimization at a dedicated digital consulting firm or in an in-house SEO position.
● At least 3 years of working experience with standard web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture and other SEO tools.
● Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies and experience measuring success of SEM / PPC and SEO campaigns efforts.
● Measurable examples of success in link building and search engine optimization.
● Ability to evaluate websites from an SEO technical visibility perspective and recommend changes to improve search engine exposure.
● Detailed understanding of SEO structuring, schema markup, search engine ranking factors, algorithms, and information retrieval principles and philosophies.
● Well versed in developing content strategies, link building outreach, local listing management, reading and editing HTML.
● Excellent online marketing copywriting skills including experience writing keyword optimized web copy and metadata.
