Responsible for shooting and editing original content for SPA marketing and publicity including:
• Social media (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, production blogs…) including but not limited to Inside Sony Pictures Animation videos and One Minute Job Descriptions
• Designing custom teasers to promote projects and push video views
• Bonus DVD featurette content e.g. behind the scenes vignettes
• Contribute ideas for improving and repurposing studio content
◦ Best of reels eg best scenes of Dennis from HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2
◦ Viral takes eg funny fake horror trailer of CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS
• Generate ideas and create original video & graphic content for marketing & publicity projects including:
◦ United Nations program on SMURFS: THE LOST VILLAGE
◦ Viral videos based on Google BrandLab positioning
◦ SMURFS activity sheets for SPRI
◦ Holidays (Halloween, SPA Christmas…)
• Cover internal events to create pieces for external as well as studio-wide distribution, including shooting & editing:
◦ Halloween Party
◦ Birthday Celebrations
◦ Summer Barbecues
◦ Shooting Int’l Summit and other presentations
◦ Original vignettes e.g. Meet Silvie at the Coffee Cart, time lapse of new decor by Joey Chou
◦ Artist profiles for “Inside Sony Pictures Animation” YouTube series
• Generate reels for festival uses e.g. The View and CTN
• Collaborate on social media and communications strategies for the studio e.g. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3 social media positioning, approach & schedule
• Seek royalty free music for custom made videos
This position requires:
• Versatile and in-depth knowledge of video equipment, lighting setups, microphones and sound mixing
• Experience of Adobe Premiere, and full Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects and Photoshop
• Knowledge of compositing and video compression
• Ability to handle outputs and watermarking while still managing priorities and deadlines.
• Successful experience creating viral content preferred
• Extreme attention to detail and strong ability to multi task in fast paced environments
Filming experience:
• Experience/ability to shoot with DSLR cameras and different lenses
• Comfortable with setting up lav microphones and basic sound mixing
• Can shoot quality B-Roll
• Can set up, light, and shoot an interview
Professional User of:
• Premiere
◦ Knowledge of video editing
◦ Knowledge of common video codecs and resolutions
◦ Able to link AE comps
• Photoshop
◦ Able to resize images to exact specifications
◦ Able to remove objects from a background
◦ Able to create graphics with an eye for design
◦ Knowledge of effects and filters (i.e. drop shadow, outer glow, liquify, etc.)
• After Effects
◦ Motion graphics knowledge/experience
◦ Bezier keyframes, expressions, etc.
◦ Knowledge of comps, layers, masks, and keyframing
Ability to create a variety of pieces:
• Behind-the-scenes vignettes
• Parodies
• Lyric videos
• Social media graphics
• Images and videos
