Position Summary
Television Company Based in Atlanta, GA is looking for an enthusiastic and creative photo and video clearance professional. This is a Run of Show Position. This individual would be a dual report to the Production Attorney and Executive in Charge of Production.
Having an interest in the weather is a bonus for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Identify and/or clear third party material, including photos and videos for multiple Long Form Weather Channel shows. This includes but is not limited to viral videos, personal and professional photographs and stock/wire images.
2. Acting as liaison between Legal, Production and vendors advising all parties of all clearance issues.
3. Maintain and track clearance rights for third party material used in broadcast which includes maintaining company standard Rights and Clearances tracking reports.
4. Making sure appropriate releases have been obtained for each episode before it locks.
5. Strong negotiation skills to broker fair but competitive rates
6. Work with industry contacts to negotiate fees and secure appropriate rights.
7. Interface with the Production Attorney matters and Production Management Team on clearance matters.
8. Work with producing teams to obtain story elements and costs in a timely fashion.
9. Building rights and clearances binders for and portal uploads of all network deliverables.
10. Maintains database for production releases.
11. Work with the Line Producer to create Purchase Orders, track and report all expenditures weekly to the Supervising Producer and Line Producer.
12. Review show deliverables and EDLs and report assets included in final broadcast and ensure all master footage is ordered and cleared prior to online.
13. Supervise the work of the researchers working under this position to ensure they are working as efficiently and quickly as possible
Education, Experience, Certification Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years in a job experienced with identifying and clearing photos and videos for a television network. Must have firm understanding of term, usage and rights issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills that lead to satisfactory solutions for both internal and external customers.
• Candidate should be extremely well-organized, adept at maintaining tracking reports, highly detail oriented and interact well with others in a digital space.
• Must be deeply committed to working in a shared digital document arena and a masterful command of the tools available at an office working in a Google Drive environment
• Professional international contacts and an understanding of working with international vendors
