ebook Production Associate
We have an opportunity for a full-time ebook Production Associate on the Crown/Knopf team that develops fiction, nonfiction, cooking, and complex illustrated ebooks. Our team is passionate about the future of reading, and we are looking for a candidate with the ability to identify and facilitate the best digital reading experience for a wide range of titles.
The ebook Production Associate responsibilities include:
• Creating and correcting ebooks
• Maintaining production schedules
• Performing quality assurance on ebook files
• Distributing files to retail partners
• Assisting in developing code and workflows for advanced conversions
• Testing new software and hardware as our digital publishing programs evolve
ebook production requires significant hands-on technical and design skills. Qualified candidates will have:
• A demonstrated expertise with HTML/XHTML coding, particularly with advanced features of HTML 5 and CSS 3
• Candidates should also have direct design experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop (Creative Cloud preferred)
• Comfortable working in a Mac-based environment
• Careful attention to detail throughout the course of collaborative, multi-phase, digital projects
• Knowledge of ebook production processes and/or print production processes will also be a valuable asset, as will a general interest in book publishing as an industry
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred
