About the Role
Reporting to the Distillation and Maturation Director, this role is responsible for 17 distilleries, co-product processing and Bio-Energy Plants. The jobholder also supports the delivery of the DVC strategy for 5 of our 12 distillery visitor centres and is accountable for delivering their targeted trading profit.
You’ll be expected to provide leadership and to create the conditions for delivery of outstanding safety, quality, service & cost from the sites within your area of responsibility. The Operations Director will also actively role model ISC’s engagement, performance management and employee relations principles and processes.
Further responsibilities include:
To provide strong leadership across all levels in Distillation and help shape the strategy of the wider D&M division
To safely deliver our customer spirit requirements in full and on time
Deliver great safety, production, environmental, quality, cost and efficiency KPI’s using Manufacturing Excellence principles
Skills & Experience Required
You will ideally be educated to graduate or equivalent level in a relevant scientific or Engineering discipline and be IT literate. A broad knowledge and understanding of all the elements of business risk gained through relevant experience is essential including Quality, Health and Safety and Environment.
Previous leadership experience and a great track record in a world class production/manufacturing arena
Very strong and broad understanding of the malt and malt whisky production processes
A proven champion of manufacturing excellence leadership, management, tools & techniques and continuous improvement.
Can effectively manage relationships, both internal & external to achieve great performance outcomes
