Job Description
Do you have a creative eye? An ear for natural sound? A nose for news?
If so, WLNS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Lansing, Michigan is looking for you. Please indicate in your cover letter if you are willing to accept a 32 hour a week position.
We shoot with Panasonic P2 cameras and we have the toys to take your storytelling to the next level.
Position Summary:
The News Photographer operates television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Shoots video for news reports (with and without a reporter)
• Asks good questions of local and national newsmakers
• Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements
• Sets up, composes and executes video shots
• Maintains video equipment
• Edits video clips on a non-linear editing system for television broadcasts and eMedia content
• Working under tight deadlines
• Operates ENG live trucks in remote situations. We also have a "liveshot in a backpack."
• Performs other duties as assigned
Must be a team player, reliable, initiative driven and have a great attitude. Candidates must have a clean driving record.
