Pearson is constantly looking to add to our AMAZING team! Presently, we are in search of a highly skilled Instructional Design & Development Analyst that has a keen eye for details with ability to zoom out and discover the patterns in a much larger picture! One must have a commitment and passion for learning and technology.
In this role, the Instructional Design & Development Analyst will assist in managing the process of digital product conceptualization of program activities (SCOs) by collaborating closely with Product Team design colleagues about the Root SCO workflow process and Gadget capabilities. This process begins with Gadget orientation and extends up to the SCO assembly phase. You should have an excellent understanding of various Instructional Design methodologies and tools, and be able to apply creativity and sound instructional principles to solutions.
Your responsibilities will be creating new documentation and updating documentation for an internal training website that explains Gadgets, Root SCOs, Workflows and other applicable topics so that Product Teams have access relevant, up-to-date training and reference materials. You will lead meetings and training sessions on gadgets and other related topics to Product Teams. With your excellent writing and speaking skills, you will be able to explain concepts in an easy-to-understand way to an audience that may not be familiar with the topic at hand.
This opportunity is located at our Chandler, AZ, Boston, MA, or Glenview, IL, office site, or, may be a remote position.
Here is what you will get to do:
• Orient Product Teams with Gadgets capabilities and configurations
• Participate in cross-functional teams to provide and receive input on how to instructionally enhance the content of digital activities
• Conduct project kickoff sessions that result in awareness about the Gadget and Root SCO set up, design and development process for Product Teams
• Support the training of Product Teams on the Root SCO design process
• Consult with Product Teams through their SCO content model design process to determine which gadgets to use in program SCOs to accomplish instructional design and educational goals
• Work with Product Teams to brainstorm requirements for new gadgets and gadget enhancements
• Work closely with the Root SCO and Gadget UX Design Team on how content will be presented and organized
• Work with the Research and Usability Testing Team to ensure Gadget instructional Design Principles are validated
• Develop requirements for Gadget Analytics
• Analyze Gadget analytics data; tests and validate findings; implement design improvements as needed
• Inform Product Teams regarding Gadget Accessibility
• Work closely with the Gadget Development (technical) Team to review Gadgets and Root SCOs in development to ensure functional specifications defined by the Product Teams have been executed
• Work with Product Team to create Sample SCOs for testing
• Follow current trends and research on innovations and developments in the fast-moving field of Instructional Design
• Advise on and implement process improvements
Qualifications
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree in educational technology, Instructional Design, communications or related field
• 3-5 years of digital instructional design and development experience, preferably in the field of education
• Expertise in documentation creation and management
• Prior experience with Content Management Systems
• Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and other workflow and storyboard tools
• Excellent communication skills, strong analytical and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Possess an eye for detail and be able to manifest ideas into a tangible form
• Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• High degree of flexibility and tolerance for change
• Ability to lead and collaborate actively with others on cross-functional team
• Pearson Gadget, DCAT Root SCO awareness and competencies a big plus (if an internal candidate)
