Condé Nast Entertainment is seeking a VP of Development, New Platforms, to lead the evolution of the digital video business into emerging platforms, including Social, OTT, and 360/VR.
This individual is responsible for New Platform programming development, with a specific focus on short form.
The ideal candidate is creative, connected, and collaborative. The role requires engagement across all Conde Nast brands, multiple teams within CNÉ, and external partners across a diversity of platforms. The role is based in Los Angeles, and reports directly to the SVP, Marketing, Distribution, and New Platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee development pipeline across all emerging platforms, including Snap, Facebook, YouTube Red, Twitter, etc.
• Establish high level relationships with key external creative and development stakeholders at each platform
• Maintain active relationships with external creative, development and production entities- with a fluid knowledge of projects in market
• Leverage existing Condé Nast digital video formats, events, IP and talent to develop content franchises for emerging platforms
• Work with CNÉ’s traditional alternative and scripted programming leads on adapting projects for new platforms
• Manage internal and external relationships during both the development and production phases of show creation
• Oversee pitch materials and liaise with partners on production and development notes
• Coordinate with production teams, review episodic materials, and give notes throughout all phases of development
• Review performance of programming in market and identify best content practices on a proactive basis
Qualifications:
• 10+ years in the creative development space, preferably in both digital and linear environments
• Extensive experience collaborating with producers, writers, and content creators
• Experience in developing content for a diversity of demographics
• Knowledge of both TV industry dynamics and digital video offerings across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat etc.
• Experience developing programing at an agency, network, production company, digital group, or social platform
• Comprehensive psychographic understanding of the millennial demographic as it relates to video content production
