Vice President, Marketing (K12 - Learning Services)

The Vice President of Marketing is the most senior marketing executive in Pearson K-12 Learning Services. The Vice President Marketing Leads a geographically diverse team of approximately 50 professionals with teams responsible for campaign marketing, digital marketing, creative services, events, and research.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a multi-channel / omni-channel marketing strategy for K12 Learning Services working closely with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Sales teams.
Drive product and business unit level revenue objectives through the execution of effective campaign strategies in both open territory and adoption state markets. Set campaign strategies based on business objectives and own the design and execution of these end-to-end campaigns from lead generation through to closed sales.
Owns the digital marketing strategy and campaign execution for the business, including the public facing web site, email marketing campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO) strategy, paid search engine marketing (SEM), as well as internal facing resources supporting sales. Defines and executes social media strategy for all channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest).
Work closely with the Sales organization leadership to drive new business, renewal, and cross-sell / up-sell sales through both field sales and inside / telesales models. Partners with Sales in the design and creation of sales support materials, product samples, collateral, and all other customer facing resources.
Works closely with Pearson global marketing as well as Product Management, Marketing, and Product Development teams to align K12 Learning Services products and marketing with global brand standards across all customer touch points. Responsible for the creative design strategy and execution for all marketing communications.
Owns the strategy and execution of the market facing communications for K12 Learning Services including PR, social media, and content marketing.
Responsible for the planning and execution of national and regional events and conferences, including trade shows, conferences, author events and Pearson-originated Sales events and web-based seminars and training. Works closely with Sales organization to plan and execute customer facing events as well as regional and national sales meetings.
Owns the customer facing research function for K12 Learning Services. Works closely with Product Management to define Market Research strategy in support of new product design process, including customer needs assessment, product design, and usability testing. Owns and executes the efficacy research plan in support of existing products in the field. Responsible for customer satisfaction and NPS research.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred
At least 10-15 years in senior leadership role in a large B2B business with responsibility for overall marketing strategy and execution
Significant experience working with and partnering with a large sales organization, both field and inside sales, to drive business results.
Must be very familiar with modern marketing and CRM technology platforms, especially Salesforce.com, the Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Pardot.
Strong background in digital marketing with a proven track record of driving results through web marketing, paid and organic search, and social media.
Highly analytical and data driven with a passion for analysis and understanding and optimizing the key metrics that drive marketing performance.
Experience in both B2B and B2C environments with a strong sense of what works to drives the customer lifecycle from prospecting through trial, purchase, and repeat purchase.
Education industry experience, especially experience in the K-12 market, is desirable but not required.
Experience in building strong, diverse, teams of highly talented individuals that operate as a single team.
Excellent leadership skills and ability to partner with internal sales teams.
Proven ability to develop and motivate staff through appropriate levels of mentoring, coaching and monitoring to shape culture, behaviors and competences to support business objectives.
