Manager, Data Analysis/Reporting - Home Entertainment

The Manager Data Analysis & Reporting is part of the Analytics & Business Insights team in the Consumer Strategy Group and will act as a key resource for Performance Reporting, Dashboard development, Title and Market Analysis and Visual / Tool Development supporting internal teams. Includes but not limited to cross-platform analysis in both digital (VOD, EST) and physical (Sell-through and Rental) for the North American Home Entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver reports and solutions to downstream stakeholders on-time and accurately
• Improve efficiency of data ingestion and data blending from various disparate sources leveraging SQL, VBA, R / Python, Alteryx, Access.
• Ingest data into cloud based solutions.
• Lead in ideation and development of visual and analytical tools leveraging Tableau, Excel and Alteryx and that lead to actionable insights to grow business
• Create and maintain tools and seek opportunities to leverage data to help organization achieve competitive advantage
• Derive actionable insights and interpret reports, dashboards, analysis and communicate key results
• Develop and track metrics that are relevant to commercial decision making
• Deliver presentations to all levels organization including senior management
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to enable partnerships in key initiatives
• Be a subject matter expert for internal teams on general market trends, internal title performance and visual and analytical tools functionality
• Maintain sound understanding of technology landscape and tools (R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau) to design and deliver solutions to business units
• Track and stay in the know re: industry news and trends (Home Entertainment, Entertainment, Data & Analytics)
Qualifications
3-4 years of the following required:
• Advanced business statistics
• Data Science capabilities - ability to code in R or Python
• Programming experience with SQL, Alteryx, VBA, Access
• Advanced Microsoft Excel required
◦ Knowledge of vlookups, filters and pivot tables at minimum required
◦ Expertise in building macros a plus
• Design and construction of dashboards, reports and analytical tools highly preferred via Tableau. Shiny optional.
• Business Objects or other BI software report development highly preferred
• Experience in working with transactional or POS data (including sales, streams, views, turns)
• Experience working with industry data such as Rentrak or NPD
Experience - Plus
• Experience using statistical programming language (e.g. R, Python, etc.)
• Experience in customer level transactional data
• Experience with Microsoft Access
• Experience with data from Physical retailers (Walmart, Target, etc) Digital retailers (Itunes, Amazon Video)
Skills
• Strong attention to detail but agility with critical deadlines
• Strong analytical skills, multitask abilities and effective communication skills to all levels of organization in all formats
• Must meet weekly deadlines in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities
• Must be able to analyze large data sets and perform quality assurance measures with strong attention to detail
• Ability to create ad hoc queries, custom reports and manage large data files
• Comfortable in presenting materials to a large audience and senior leadership
• Must be proactive, self- motivated and highly organized with excellent follow through
• Flexible attitude and open to suggestions and recommendations
Education / Experience
• BA / BS degree required. In analytical field (Science, Math, Engineering, Economics, Finance) preferred
• 2-5+ years work experience in consumer-packaged goods, media, retail, entertainment industry and/or business analytics environment
• MBA or equivalent type of certification (preferred)
