The Assessment Team is part of Pearson English and Schools within Pearson, the world’s leading private education company. The Assessment Team is headquartered in London.
The post-holder will be responsible for several key activities, largely aimed at increasing the number of universities, colleges and government bodies which recognise Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) as part of their international student admissions and skilled migration acceptance criteria. PTE Academic is a high stakes language test which is growing rapidly worldwide, as a strong competitor to IELTS and TOEFL.
The expanding Assessment team requires a self-starter to undertake several key activities:
1. Direct responsibility for a strategy to encourage the recognition of PTE Academic with several thousand universities and colleges in the USA and Europe via email and telephone outreach and engagement. Two team members (based in London and Hoboken) will be offering support on a full time basis. Success will be measured based on volume of contacts and conversion rates.
2. Liaison with Pearson colleagues in India, China, the Middle East and LATAM to design and jointly manage local campaigns.
3. Liaison with Marketing to design appropriate supporting email campaigns and establish webinars on relevant topics.
4. Client management of some key university accounts in the UK and Europe.
5. Project management and data collection for government bids to secure recognition of the test for all immigration visas. These tenders will arise periodically.
6. Competitor analysis and reporting.
The role will also require support with recognition for other language testing products, where appropriate.
This position will suit a highly motivated and professional individual, who is comfortable in a fast paced environment, is target driven and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Assessment Team within Pearson is growing rapidly, and consists of dynamic and passionate individuals who are committed to the rapid growth in demand of PTE Academic.
Key accountabilities:
• Writing and delivering a strategy for generating increased rate of recognition amongst universities and colleges in the USA and Europe
• Advising and supporting two Associate-level posts on the best methods for email and telephone outreach / engagement to encourage the recognition of PTE Academic with several thousand universities and colleges, including identifying key contacts at each institution and customising email content and telephone/video presentations, where appropriate
• Liaison with Pearson colleagues in India, China, the Middle East and LATAM to design and jointly manage local campaigns.
• Liaison with Marketing to design appropriate supporting email campaigns and establish webinars on relevant topics.
• Project management, evidence collation and report writing for government bids
• Regular reporting to internal stakeholders of recognitions achieved versus targets.
• Face-to-face meetings with important stakeholders at UK and European universities
• Other duties may be assigned, where appropriate, including support for other products.
Key outputs:
• Strategy for recognition activities
• Weekly reporting of performance of Associates at outreach activities
• Management of a CRM
• Documentation for government bids
• Recognition meetings attended in the UK and Europe
• Desk-based research of several thousand universities and colleges websites to collate a contact list
• Email and telephone contact with decision makers at several thousand universities and colleges, advising them on the benefits of PTE Academic and demonstrating how this product will meet their specific needs. Success will be measured by the rate of achieving formal recognition of PTE Academic
• Management of the contact list and regular reporting of progress against defined efficiency metrics including number of contacts made per week, email open rates, pipeline conversion rates etc.
• Desk-based research of select universities and colleges, and key personnel, for Client Relations Managers who are based in the USA, producing a summary document for their meetings
• Weekly liaison with Pearson colleagues in India, China, the Middle East and LATAM to design and jointly manage local campaigns and competitor data presented in a clear manner, with the use of graphs, excel and powerpoint

Degree level or higher.
Experience in international higher education industry preferred.
