THIS IS A CONTRACT POSITION EXPECTED TO LAST FOR 6 MONTHS.
The Airbnb Policy Digital team is helping to define and lead the conversation about the benefits of home sharing around the world. Using a variety of content, from narrative profiles of our community, to data driven reports, and action oriented digital organizing tools, distributed in hyper targeted channels, social media, email, paid media, the Digital team is amplifying a policy message to influential audiences to drive real results. Great candidates for the Digital Content Producer role will thrive at the intersection of creating innovative, measurable content and using digital strategy to advance the goals of Airbnb Policy. This is a temporary contract position based in San Francisco through March 31, 2017 with a possibility for extension.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• “Digital Swiss Army Knife” - we are a scrappy team, so the Content Producer will need to put a variety of creative skills to good use
◦ Be a great producer - understand all the elements and steps needed to create great digital content, with the ability to jump into any aspect of content creation
◦ Incredible attention to detail, but the ability to see the bigger picture
• Great writing skills, with the ability to work on a variety of content including
◦ Action-oriented emails to our community
◦ Narrative blog posts
◦ Social media posts
◦ Reports and impact studies, etc.
• A visual eye
◦ Produce visual content within the Airbnb Brand Guidelines from graphics to videos
◦ Graphic design, photography, videography, or editing skills are a big plus.
◦ Experience creating content in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Lightroom) a big plus
• Working collaboratively with a small team to problem solve and skill share
• Creative thinking and strong decision making skills
◦ Demonstrate excellent decision-making skills, as you are solving a wide range of complex problems.
• You are comfortable handling projects independently and working across teams both within and outside the Public Policy Department to achieve your goals and outcomes.
• Understands politics, grassroots lobbying and lawmaking process at all levels of government.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set strategy and goals and implement public policy digital programs in key markets as assigned.
Act as point person for all policy-related digital content in assigned markets
Work closely with the policy, mobilization and communications teams to understand the political landscape.
Devise and execute a content strategy that distributes news to, and about, our community and mobilizes our community for collective action.
Find creative and cost-effective ways to tell the story of the Airbnb community to elected officials, policy makers, and influencers, the press and our own hosts+guests.
Lead day-to-day content creation.
Find creative ways to identify and feature good stories online
Produce all the campaign digital content for the region.
Interviewing hosts
Writing and editing emails and blog posts
Building digital tools (sign-ups, petitions, event RSVPs, etc)
Designing visual elements
Posting and engaging on social media
Track and manage all internal approvals
Build pages, query target audiences, schedule and send email
Engage frequently with actionable data and analytics.
Understand and analyse key metrics to measure effectiveness
Use these insights to optimize future digital content
Educate and train the local Airbnb community.
Train staff on how to use digital organizing tools to empower the community
Interact with hosts and guests at events, and engage them to get involved online
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree or 4-year equivalent and 2+ years experience creating digital content
• Project management experience required
• Excellent working knowledge of social media best practices required
• Digital organizing and/or political campaign experience is a plus
• Web, social, video content creation experience a plus
• Digital ad buying experience a plus
