The Manager of Financial Reporting reports to the Director of Financial Reporting as overseen by the Vice President of Finance and Financial Reporting in consolidation of AEG Corporate & its subsidiaries and preparation of various financial reports. Consolidated financial reports are prepared quarterly and yearly while other various reports are prepared monthly and on ad-hoc basis. The position requires considerable knowledge of accounting principles and experience in the consolidation process.
The Manager of Financial Reporting also assists in developing reports and training users on our Insight financial application (or other relevant application), as well as be a high-level user for consolidated, corporate and ad-hoc reporting. The Manager of Financial Reporting will also be a high-level user in our JDEdwards financial application
Essential Duties:
1. Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
2. Prepare and review audit and roll forward schedules. Coordinate interim and year-end audits related to consolidated entities.
3. Assist in developing the usage of Insight (or relevant reporting systems) to AEG & its subsidiaries, including training and continued support.
4. Prepare and analyze ad-hoc reports through use of Insight and JDEdwards.
5. Conduct GAAP research and prepare memorandums on various technical topics.
6. Maintain the documentation for entity and departmental accounting policies and procedures, and develop and implement improved accounting policies and procedures, if necessary.
7. Provide suggestions to management and supervisor on ways to implement efficiencies with processing and reporting activities.
8. Prepare monthly cash flow reporting, and semi-annual trade accounts receivable analysis on a consolidated basis.
9. Assist in the supervision of the Senior Accountant in the Financial Reporting department.
10. Assist the Director of Financial Reporting and the Vice President of Financial Reporting with special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests from key stakeholders and ownership.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
1. A minimum education level of: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or comparable in Accounting/Finance
2. 5 years of related work experience; public accounting (Big 4 preferred) experience of at least 3 to 4 years required
3. Prefer at least 2 to 4 years of experience in an analyst and managerial role working with complex computer systems/financial applications (i.e. JDEdwards, Oracle, etc.) and in Consolidations
4. Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
5. Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and email applications.
6. Proficient knowledge of, and adaptability to, accounting software systems.
7. Considerable understanding of accounting principles and accounting functions.
8. Hands-on experience working with multiple companies/legal entities and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
9. Ability to communicate to finance and operational upper management.
10. Partner with internal and external clients in order to foster relationships and assist with inquiries.
11. Accuracy at all-times even when working under pressure in meeting deadlines.
12. Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
13. Must have excellent organizational skills.
14. Must have hands-on computer skills.
15. C.P.A. license required
