Job Description:
Horizon Media, Inc. is in search of a Social Creative Content Strategist to join our growing social team out of our New York City office! The Content Strategist is responsible for developing creative concepts in the social space that will drive consumer engagement across platforms. The ideal Content Strategist is insanely curious, knows what makes great Internet content, and loves asking, “What if?”
On a day-to-day basis, the Content Strategist works in close partnership with a designer to develop monthly and campaign concepts, ideating big ideas and writing corresponding copy to bring them to life.
In addition to working closely with a designer, the Content Strategist works closely with the Community Manager to assess content performance and provide recommendations and optimizations for future executions based upon identified learnings and insights.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Thoroughly understand brand voice and tone, and be its champion in social creative
• Own content strategy and development through concepting, ideating, and writing all social content based upon monthly content briefs in partnership with account designer
• Assist in strategy development and deck development from a research, idea, and execution standpoint
• Collaborate with community managers to ensure channel insights are incorporated into planned content and conquesting/community management engagements related to monthly content
• Identifies and surfaces opportunities for real-time and break through social executions day-in and day-out
• 60% - Concept Development and Copywriting
• 20% - Performance Analysis
• 20% - Strategy Development Support
Knowledge and Skills Required
• 0-3 years of Copywriting experience in an social/digital capacity at an agency or other creative capacity is preferred (either internship or full time experience).
• Prior experience managing online communities is strongly preferred
• BA/BS Required (Communications, Advertising, Marketing or a related field)
• In the Know: Has a deep understanding of the social space, knows what gets people motivated to interact and engage online, can identify trends and capitalize on trends
• Platform Expert: Excellent knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.), and understands user behavior on each
• Talk the Talk: Excellent communication skills, able to articulate new ideas and tactics in written and verbal scenarios; innovative in nature, always looking for new ways to communicate potentially old ideas
• Crunching the Numbers:Can assess and communicate performance metrics and recommendations
• Self-Start Mentality: Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, without identified direction and/or responsibilities
