Marketing Manager, Knopf
Summary
Penguin Random House has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join the Knopf Marketing department. Reporting to VP, Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will develop creative marketing strategies for a wide variety of hardcover fiction and nonfiction titles across the Knopf, Pantheon & Schocken imprints, to reach the largest possible readership through innovative consumer-facing marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities
• Creates and implements title-specific marketing campaigns
• Targets available audiences for assigned titles -- and strategizes ways to reach them through advertising and promotion
• Communicates with editors, authors and agents to explain, refine, and enact marketing plans, including traditional print advertising, online and social media promotions
• Collaborates and brainstorms with marketing and publicity colleagues to maximize outreach
• Clearly communicates design needs and deadlines to the Advertising Director and designers
• Manages book promotion plans and budgets
Requirements
• 3-5 years’ minimum experience in book publishing, particularly with both literary and commercial fiction
• Fluency in key marketing concepts and tools including email, social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram a must), search, as well as traditional book marketing methods
• Strategic and creative thinking
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong writing skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Quick and sharp reading skills
• Sense of humor a must
