Your Daily Adventure
Being part of Montreuil production studio, you will join the production team of AAA Open World game. Under direct management of the Technical Director Level Design (TD LD) you will support the Technical Direction on Level Design decisions. You will be involved in determining project needs, implementing efficient work tools and methods and answering the first-line technical questions of Level Designers.
Your missions will cover:
• Define the level design team’s technical needs by consulting project documents and communicating with those involved in the development of the creative vision (design and artistic) in collaboration with the TD Level Design
• Help develop/select the best internal and external tools, in collaboration with the TD Level Design to enhance and facilitate the work of the level design team by testing tools before they are deployed on the project and ensuring their proper functioning throughout the process
• Suggest best practices to the TD Level Design to standardize work methods and ensure the validity and integrity of the data by drafting and updating pipeline documents on a regular basis, setting out a common classification system, training processes users and regularly reminding working unit and team members of the technical constraints and their rationale
• Ensure the technical validation of the data produced by the level design team, resolve first-line technical issues to support the team by working in close collaboration with programmers and the TD Level Design
• Participate to optimization and debugging to fix issues related to Level Design
Qualifications
• College diploma in level design or equivalent is a must
• 2-4 years’ experience in level design or other relevant experience
• Experience in level design at all game production phases an asset
• Excellent technical knowledge of editors and good understanding of script languages and software
• Good understanding of the video game development process
• Resourcefulness in problem-solving
• Ability to draft technical documents
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Rigour and Curiosity
