Job Description
HuffPost is looking for a communications professional to join their Media Business & Product team. This individual plays a critical role in shaping the way our news platforms are perceived by key audiences around the globe. This role is responsible for improving and defending our brand's reputation and is accountable for driving positive PR outcomes in media globally.
Responsibilities:
• Drive a world-class Consumer Public Relations discipline across Oath Brands
• Create and activate creative consumer campaign concepts that map to business objectives while creating media coverage and driving consumer usage; lead concept creation and execution including traditional media and social channels; clearly establish measurable objectives for each initiative
• Provide strategic direction and develop annual plan that ladders up to business objectives
• Manage/oversee a digital PR outreach program and deliver positive coverage and improved influencer perceptions
• Provide PR counsel and messaging and positioning guidance to key stakeholders
• Keep a pulse on the industry, audience trends, and stories.
• Responsible for the development, execution and measurement of all consumer-driven PR communications strategies, initiatives and tactics; drives the day-to-day activities; and ensures that metrics/results capture the goals and effectiveness of all campaigns and programs.
Qualifications
• Successful candidates will likely have a BS/BA and ideally also have an advanced degree in Communications.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience in an agency or in-house role – with a focus on building brands.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills and presentation skills
• Proven success working closely with senior-level executives on messaging, speaking opportunities, media requests, internal communications, and more. Ability to think creatively, approach communications from new angles, and manage both up and down the organization
• Experienced spokesperson with strong media relationships and demonstrated ability to generate business, tech and trade coverage – print, online and broadcast
• Experience working for or managing communications agencies
• International experience in launching brands
