I. Job Summary
Major goals and objectives.
Work in collaboration with the Cash Accountant 1 to accomplish the following:
To determine daily cash position, make daily investment decisions, be responsible for proper and valid wire and ach disbursements, and properly reflect on the books all cash-related activities.
In addition, to facilitate company-wide credit card merchant numbers / PCI compliance, prepare bank account and other general ledger reconciliations, maintain Oracle cash management system, maintain debt and interest expense / income records, prepare monthly working capital / debt compliance / Meredith Corporation Foundation reporting, and other duties as assigned.

Provide key support and backup to cash accountant including cross-training on all relevant functions in order to manage the daily cash function in the cash accountant’s absence.

Prepare bank reconciliations for a certain number of bank accounts.

Maintain records of debt and interest expense / income, make appropriate accounting entries and do appropriate reconciliations. Prepare necessary year-end audit schedules.

Maintain Oracle Cash Management system.

Various projects as assigned by the Treasurer – including but not limited to: monthly analysis of certain working capital ratios, monthly debt compliance calculations, monthly preparation of Meredith Corporation Foundation financial statements, preparation of credit applications, etc.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Four-year college degree or a two-year college degree combined with applicable accounting experience.
Experience:
Five-years of experience preferred but not mandatory to include experience with cash management functions / bank account reconciliations, experience with basic accounting principles / journal entries, experience with Oracle, experience with bank operations / bank software, proficient in Microsoft Office
Meredith experience with knowledge of operating areas a positive

Must be able to communicate (written and orally) with all levels of personnel at Meredith and outside Meredith, math aptitude, good organizational skills, self-motivated / attention to detail, willingness to assume responsibility and meet deadlines, ability to manage multiple requests and assess priorities, and high degree of honesty and integrity.
