Condé Nast Entertainment is looking for a Production Accountant to join our dynamic, fast, creative environment to help manage the finances of our digital content production. This is a mid-level role and a strong candidate will have experience with accounting for the entertainment industry. This candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work well within a team environment. The ideal candidate is organized and will possess strong analytical skills.
Production Accountant Primary Responsibilities:
• Work across multiple Condé Nast brands to ensure project finances are recorded accurately, meet business and legal requirements and payment deadlines.
• Establish and revise accounting policies and procedures as needed.
• Maintain detailed and organized financial records for production and running internal audits as necessary..
• Ensure that payments are made on time and correspond with agreements and budgets.
• Provide administrative and internal process support to assigned production activities.
• Help monitor budgets, analyze spending, provide cost reports, and forecast.
• Recognize deviation from accepted practices and confirm appropriate next steps.
• All aspects of production accounting including payroll, vendor setup, reconciling P-Cards, processing invoices, cost tracking and reporting, cash flow schedules, monthly GL reconciliations, audits, and closes.
Experience/Skills Required:
• A minimum of 3 years of Entertainment Accounting experience within the digital content or television environment.
• Knowledge of production processes as well as bookkeeping and accountancy skills.
• College degree required.
• Skilled in various accounting, scheduling and finance software, most notably PeopleSoft and Microsoft Excel.
• Must be able to learn quickly, take initiative, and have strong and effective communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and effective time management to maintain multiple projects with complex details.
• Ability to prioritize, work well under pressure, follow-up on outstanding information, and be able to report in a timely manner.
• Understand guild, tax, union, labor laws, contractual obligations, and other relevant regulations.
• This candidate should be familiar with payroll, labor laws, processing invoices, accounts payable, vendor set-up, cost tracking and reporting, cash flow schedules, disbursements, reconciliations, forecasting, audits, etc.
