The School Division is currently recruiting for Editorial Project Manager (Digital) for a permanent position.
The Editorial Project Manager (Digital) is primarily responsible for managing the Editorial content and delivering quality digital products on schedule and budget. The Editorial Project Manager (Digital) will manage processes and workflows to coordinate the development and production of School products, primarily digital, content preparation to assembly to finished product, while liaising with in-house staff, freelancers, and vendors to meet interim and final deliverables.
The Editorial Project Manager (Digital) will work with the Managing Editor on schedules, budget, art, photos, permissions, composition, and marketing to apply changes to development and the production plan.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Completion of a university degree is preferred
• Completion of a publishing certificate is an asset
• Minimum two years project management experience in book/magazine publishing or related graphic arts environment
• Two years of in-house educational publishing experience
• Knowledge of editorial/production/prepress workflows
• Demonstrated interest in or knowledge of new technologies including digital textbook platforms, learning management systems, HTML, XML, interactive learning objects, and digital apps
• Familiarity with web applications and issues is an asset
• Knowledge of Alfresco or similar content management systems is an asset
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills to build and maintain relationships
• Proficient with computers; including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
• Adaptable problem-solver and team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
• Must be detail-oriented to meet sensitive deadlines
