Head of Marketing, Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network
Job Introduction
The BBC’s Marketing & Audiences team have a fantastic opportunity for a senior Marketing professional to work on expanding the voice of one of our most popular brands.
The Head of Marketing role will be looking after Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network. It involves managing a marketing team of 3. It is part of the Younger Audiences portfolio and reports into the Portfolio Head of Marketing Younger Audiences
The BBC’s (M&A) team help to shape new products, commissioning strategies and editorial propositions– which are then communicated to audiences through compelling brand strategies, marketing campaigns and audience engagement.
Role Responsibility
As a leader in youth engagement you will work closely with the Portfolio Head Younger Audiences to devise and implement brand strategy as well as developing the annual marketing plan for each network. We are looking for the post holder to deliver the highest standards of creative thinking beyond what the BBC is currently doing and what we can do to deliver highly targeted best in class campaigns.
You will have extensive experience of working across a matrixed environment as you will work with BBC Creative, Media Planning, Social Media and Audiences to device compelling campaigns and communications plans that are fully integrated and connect with our audiences.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following;
• Experience of developing new and effective brand and marketing strategies – likely to have been gained in a large organisation including digital and social media
• Track record in managing a major brand throughout its lifecycle
• Experience of translating audience insights and research in to a brand strategy, marketing plan, and effective campaign briefs
• Experience of leading successful teams to achieve outstanding results
• Extensive experience in marketing brands & content to younger audiences
• Recent working knowledge of marketing across digital & social platforms including to influencers and through partners
