Social Media Associate
We are seeking a creative and analytical Social Media Associate to join the Penguin Random House social media team! The Social Media Associate will create highly shareable social media content, online ads, and other promotional materials for several imprints, including Vintage Books, Anchor Books, and Everyman’s Library. The ideal candidate will perform well under tight deadlines, seek innovative design content solutions, manage multiple projects in a well-organized and detail-oriented fashion, and have a keen interest in social media and design trends found on social media. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in steering highly esteemed literary and commercial brands into exciting new directions in an open exchange of ideas with marketing, publicity and editorial teams.
Responsibilities:
• Use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr to represent the Vintage Anchor brand, individual books, and authors.
• Curate and create compelling content related to our authors and books.
• Develop editorial social media calendar for the department.
• Collaborate with other teams such as marketing to work on content strategy, including creation of title-specific social media campaigns.
• Manage social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures)
• Quantify success on follower growth and content engagement across various platforms.
• Use social listening systems to create weekly status reports and perform analysis for ad-hoc projects.
• Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
• Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media
Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:
• Minimum of two years’ experience managing a brand’s social media feeds.
• Design and publishing experience; and creative and artistic skills a plus
• Highly proficient in content creation for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr platforms.
• Understanding of key social measurement metrics.
• Proficiency in layout and design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of MS Office, In Design Suite
• Proven ability to create and revise designs in a demanding fast-paced environment
• Photography skills a plus
